The humanitarian situation in Baltistan has been terrible for more than a year. Families and communities have drained their assets and savings to pay for essential expenses, and employment in agriculture and non-farming sectors has dropped. Food insecurity has increased as a result of the drought’s effects on agricultural productivity.

Micro- and small businesses are having a difficult time surviving and expanding as a result of a lack of access to capital, poor investment, and general economic volatility.
